Patrons of the Arts: A celebration of Cebuano Art and artists

Last April 27th to 28th, 2024, SM Seaside Cebu turned into a lively place filled with art and fun. It was time for Patrons of the Arts (POTA) – an event where local artists from all over Cebu showed off their talents.

POTA was more than just an art fair; it was a platform where local artists from all corners of Cebu showcased their talents, creativity, and passion. With the slogan "Empowering Filipino Artists. Platform for art creators and consumers," the event aimed to bridge the gap between artists and art enthusiasts, fostering a community where creativity thrives and artists are celebrated.

From the moment you stepped into the venue, you were greeted by a kaleidoscope of colors, sounds, and energy.

Stalls adorned with stickers, keychains, tote bags, poster cards, and posters lined the pathways, each showcasing the unique style and vision of its creator. Whether you were a seasoned art collector or someone simply looking to add a touch of creativity to your life, there was something for everyone at POTA.

One of the highlights of POTA was the series of stamp rallies organized by various artists.

These interactive activities not only added an element of fun and excitement to the event but also provided a spotlight for each participating artist. As attendees embarked on the stamp rallies, they were taken on a journey through the diverse and eclectic world of Filipino art, discovering hidden gems and emerging talents along the way.

But POTA wasn't just about admiring art from a distance; it was about immersing oneself in the creative process.

Throughout the event, mini-games were held to keep the audience engaged and entertained. And let's not forget the cosplayers who added an extra dash of flair and fantasy to the proceedings. Dressed as their favorite characters from anime, manga, movies, and video games, these cosplayers brought a touch of whimsy and wonder to POTA.

The event served as a testament to the rich tapestry of Filipino creativity and the enduring bonds forged through a shared love of art.
