Nerd Night 2.0

Just this last Saturday night- March 23, 2024, Capu Coffee + Cocktails was transformed into a haven for geeks and nerds alike as "Nerd Night 2.0" took center stage. 

Organized by JCI Cebu in collaboration with Cebu X Geeks, Play 2 Connect, Fiddl, and Cebu Sabersturm Academy, this event was more than just a gathering; it was a celebration of community and giving back to a greater cause. 

The venue buzzed with excitement as attendees indulged in an array of activities, which was designed to cater to the diverse interests of the geek and nerd community. But what truly set Nerd Night 2.0 apart from other regular events was its charitable mission. 

For every ticket that was sold, part of it was a contribution to "Restore Children and Family Services," a non-profit organization dedicated to aiding traumatized children and spearheading community development projects under the guidance of JCI Cebu. 

The event catered to a diverse range of interests within the geek and nerd community, ensuring that there was something for everyone. Virtual reality enthusiasts immersed themselves in the rhythm of Beatsaber, while Star Wars enthusiasts marveled at the impressive Lightsaber demonstration, skillfully presented by the practitioners of Cebu Sabersturm Academy. 

Competitive spirits clashed in the Smash Tournament, where attendees battled it out for supremacy and bragging rights. And for those seeking a more traditional and laid-back experience, Nerd Night 2.0 offered a selection of various board and card games, providing opportunities for laughter and camaraderie. 

Additionally, fans of fighting games found their niche with an assortment of other combat-themed challenges. 

As the night unfolded, the attendees were treated to a delightful spread of food, drink and complimentary cocktails for everyone to enjoy, courtesy of the organizers. The fusion of flavors added to the festive atmosphere, ensuring that no one went hungry or thirsty. 

As Nerd Night 2.0 drew to a close, the sense of camaraderie and fulfillment lingered in the air. The attendees departed with cherished memories and a deep sense of satisfaction, knowing that their night of fun had made a tangible difference in the lives of others.
