TOFICON 2023

Last December 16 and 17, 2023, the Activity Center of Ayala Mall Central Bloc transformed into a haven for toy enthusiasts and collectors alike as TOFICON 2023 took center stage. This two-day event brought together a diverse community of toy merchants, artists, and toy collectors, creating an immersive experience for all attendees.

No doubt TOFICON's will always be about the toys and the toy community as every year, the highlight of the event is the toy exhibit that features a dazzling array of toys from passionate collectors. Rare and vintage pieces stood side by side with modern releases, offering a nostalgic journey through the evolution of toys. The exhibit not only celebrated the artistry and craftsmanship of these toys but also fostered a sense of community among collectors.

To spice up the Christmas shopping, Toy merchants also filled the space with their stalls, showcasing rare finds, limited editions, and beloved classics. From action figures to intricate scale models, the event catered to the varied tastes of toy enthusiasts. If they weren't there for the event, surely a couple of mall goers were able to grab great gifts that they could give to a loved one, or themselves as they visited the event. 

TOFICON also invited a selected group of artists alley to feature their works during the event, the vibrant display of original artwork, fan art, and custom creations added an extra layer of excitement to the event. 

And speaking of excitement, the stage came alive with engaging activities and entertainment throughout the event. Attendees were treated to parlor games such as the thrilling "Mystery Box," the hilarious "Who's that Nendoroid," and the brain-teasing "Geek Trivia." Laughter and cheers filled the air as participants and spectators reveled in these interactive games. 

And of course, let's not forget about the competitions and tournaments that the event hosted this year! TOFICON 2023 wasn't just about admiring toys; it was an opportunity for attendees to showcase their skills. The "On the Spot Plamo Building Contest" challenged builders to craft miniature marvels in a limited time frame, while the "Toy Photography Contest" invited shutterbugs to capture the essence of their favorite toys through the lens, resulting in breathtaking visual narratives.

There was also the Pokemon Go tournament that invited trainers from all over Cebu to engage in strategic battles and prove their prowess in the virtual realm of Pokemon. 

However, the crown jewel of the tournaments was the "Lightsaber Tournament" where skilled participants from Cebu Sabersturm Academy clashed in epic duels, where the winner gets to take home their very own lightsaber. 

TOFICON 2023 was more than just an event; it celebrated the passion and creativity that thrive within the toy community. It's a once-a-year big party where everyone in the toy community can gather together to celebrate their love and passion for toys.
