Meet Willy, an orca/killer whale made out of steel and netting meant to be a very powerful message. The centerpiece that draws attention during the Aluporter x Suzuki Marine Clean Up campaign. Built by Aluporter, it is aimed to use art in drawing attention to the ever growing plastic in the oceans problem. It serves as an artful reminder of how the enormous amount of plastic will end up in the open oceans and get swallowed by marine life. Jessica Barbier the President of Aluporter Group Inc., is for all intents and purposes, an eco-warrior and aims to raise awareness to the plastic problem by putting all the trash collected inside the steel sculpture and once it is filled to the brim, hopefully it will bring awareness to how we are impacting the environment and it's other creatures as well as ourselves in the end.
This drive has the full support of both the local officials and locals in the area of Porters Marina, Barangay Calero, Liloan of which where the cleanup campaign was official kicked off with the official opening of the Aluporter Group Inc.
Aluporter Group Inc. The company behind this is based and proudly made in Cebu, Philippines. They focus and specialize on aluminum hull leisure and commercial powerboats which also aligns with their environment friendly brand than the although cheaper, sea craft made out of fiberglass. They even re-purpose their scrap aluminum so every bit of it is used. They offer everything from manufacturing of marine aluminium custom items, powerboat servicing & refitting, servicing and distribution of OBM units & parts, and the distribution & trade of other maritime goods in the Visayas region. Suzuki Philippines, Incorporated provides all the high end engines required to power these aluminum hull vessels out to sea.
