I was privileged to get a pass for the special advanced screening of The Taking of Deborah Logan from Viva Entertainment. I've previously heard about the movie while listening to OomPH and got really intrigued. Here's my attempt at making a movie review.
The movie starts with a moving attempt to document the descent into Alzheimer's disease of Deborah Logan and the struggles of her main caregiver - Deborah's daughter. They are documenting the struggles of a crazy woman, interesting, I thought to myself.
I didn't really watch the trailer or read the synopsis so my expectations were centered around the mental degradation of the main character. However, I've never been so wrong in my life.
The storytelling reminded me of American Horror Story. I thought I already figured out the whole picture but found myself mindf*cked and confused along the way. Lot's of really hair-raising, surprising, confusing turn of events.
There was a part in the movie where I honestly thought this as another "exorcism" movie. Again, I was so wrong. There is a paranormal element to the whole plot though.
If you like movies that makes you question logic, makes you scream in unison, and occasionally cover for eyes, well you are in for a treat.
