I always say that I enjoy exploring the internet and what it has to offer. How does Maybank Secure Online Shopping or MSOS work?
For Maybank MasterCard and Maybank Visa cardholders, MSOS provides a One-Time-Password every time they perform a transaction on a 3D secure site. These sites are those with the label "Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode". With MSOS, you are assured of a secured and intuitive online shopping experience. Below is an overview of how the whole process works.
1. Before anything else, make sure that the site you are on is a 3D secured site. As a Maybank Credit Cardholder, by the time you are ready to check out your items, you would need to fill out the required information on the site. These can include your name, contact details, shipping address, and Maybank card number.
2. You will be redirected to secured authentication page and a One-Time-Password will be sent to your Maybank registered mobile phone number within 30-45 seconds.
3. Type in the One-Time-Password you received via text in the authentication page in order to complete the transaction.
And that's it!
Take note that the One-Time-Password will only be valid for 5 minutes. MSOS is a free-service and existing Maybank Credit Cardholders don't need to apply for the service as it is automatically enabled. All you need to do is make sure that a valid and working mobile number is registered to your account.
If you have been receiving SMS alerts from Maybank on your cellphone, there is no need to contact customer service. But if you want to update your registered mobile number for any reason or you would want to enrol a supplementary cardholder's number, Maybank's contact center is available 24/7.
