Psycon: New Game+ Brings Hobbies and Wellness Together in Cebu

On September 27, 2025 hobbyists and creatives from all over Cebu gathered at Robinsons Galleria Cebu for Psycon: New Game+. 

Psycon was founded with a clear purpose and that is to celebrate the diverse passions of Cebu’s hobby communities while promoting mental health awareness, from its first year, the event has worked to provide a welcoming space where people can share their interests, meet like-minded friends, and discover new creative outlets.

Psycon this year offered something for everyone in the hobby scene, there are cosplayers arriving in full character turning the mall’s event area into a living gallery of vibrant costumes, while music enthusiasts enjoyed performances and jam sessions that filled the venue with energy. There are certain fans of competitive gaming who came to test their skills, while tabletop players and trading card gamers squared off in friendly matches.

A beyblade section also drew both seasoned spinners and curious newcomers proving that the childhood favorite still has plenty of fans, and crocheters shared techniques and displayed intricate handmade pieces and inspiring attendees to pick up hooks and yarn. Meanwhile the fighting-game setups kept arcade veterans and curious beginners locked in intense but friendly battles.

Rows of artist booths lined the venue showcasing everything from original prints and fan art to handmade crafts while visitors browsed stickers and commissions, meeting the artists behind the work and getting a chance to purchase directly from local talent. 

The visitors described the atmosphere as welcoming and upbeat, families with children wandered between booths while veteran gamers shared tips with newcomers and strangers quickly became teammates and friends. By bringing so many different interests under one roof, Psycon demonstrated how Cebu’s hobby scene is both broad and tightly connected.

As the event wrapped up, attendees left with new art pieces, new friends, and plenty of inspiration. For the organizers, Psycon: New Game+ marked another successful chapter in their mission to combine mental wellness advocacy with hobby culture. Plans for the next gathering are already taking shape, and fans are eager to see what surprises future Psycon events bring.
