The most epic movie from Marvel Studios yet. Also the most heartbreaking. Will leave you stunned at the end like no Marvel movie has ever done. Directors Anthony and Joe Russo (who helmed the previous two Captain America installments, The Winter Soldier and Civil War), together with screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, do a swell job of balancing an ensemble cast of characters we’ve come to know and love over these past ten years. Thanos, the focus of this movie’s plot, is one of the more thoroughly fleshed-out MCU villains, though more comics-savvy viewers and geekier web surfers may raise eyebrows at his Malthusian motivations. It’s worth noting, though, that he’s also not as disappointing as the trailers of this film made him out to be. The action scenes are exhilarating as always, and the quips are spot-on.

Infinity War is an awesome experience and doesn’t feel at all like an almost three-hour movie. However, it’s best enjoyed—and more heartrending—if one has kept abreast of the MCU films released over the past decade.

Score: 9/10
